Having slate as a wall coping is one of the most popular options to choose, as slate is chemically inert, non-porous, does not warp, shrink or rot and the need for damp proofing is eliminated.
Slate is very hard wearing and resistant to frost. Another reason why copings are used on walls is to prevent damage to the wall from the weather. The other mainly important reason, for you looking at this, is that it simply looks great and achieving a natural finish to complete your over all project or desired look.
Choosing your copings with us here at Harri James will benefit you as a customer, as we work hard, hand crafting each piece of slate to create your bespoke project looking truly elegant and achieve a design that is to your specifications. We also have a variety of finishes to choose from ranging from chamfered, bull nose, mini bull nose, square and aged.
All our slate copings are made of top quality slate and has a naturally smooth riven surface. We have a choice of thickness and can cut copings in lengths up to 2.2 meters. Where 'jointing' is unavoidable we work to push the slate up close, so that the joint is almost invisible to the eye. Leaving only a hairline joint in place, achieving a beautiful and natural look.
